A recent investigation by CNN has revealed that Jared Kushner’s private equity firm, Affinity Partners, holds a massive stake in an Israeli investment company with deep ties to the nation’s military industrial complex. This discovery comes as Kushner serves in an unprecedented dual capacity, acting as a key volunteer envoy for the Trump administration while managing a lucrative business empire. By maintaining his status as a volunteer rather than taking an official government position, Kushner has avoided the strict financial disclosure requirements typically imposed on federal employees, effectively shielding his private dealings from intense public scrutiny.

The focus of the investigation is Phoenix Financial, a Tel Aviv based firm in which Affinity Partners is the largest shareholder. According to Israeli financial records, Phoenix has poured hundreds of millions of dollars into Elbit Systems, Israel’s premier arms manufacturer, along with several other companies producing drones, warships, and demolition machinery used in current military campaigns. While Affinity does not hold direct shares in these weapons manufacturers, it stands to profit whenever Phoenix sees returns. Records indicate that Kushner’s firm already cashed out a portion of its stake in July for over 340 million dollars, representing a return more than five times its original investment.

These financial arrangements coincide with Kushner’s influential role in shaping Middle East policy and negotiating ceasefires between Israel and Hamas. Critics argue that blending high stakes diplomacy with personal profits creates a dangerous conflict of interest. Cynthia Brown of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington suggested that those profiting from war should not be the same individuals crafting the policies that drive that profit. Despite these concerns, Kushner has previously argued that shared business opportunities can serve as a bridge toward lasting peace between Israelis and Arabs.

In response to these findings, legal representatives for Kushner have denied any wrongdoing, asserting that he does not direct Phoenix’s specific investment decisions and has never served on its board. While acknowledging that Kushner maintains regular communication with Phoenix management regarding market trends and strategy, his attorneys claim such interactions have decreased as his diplomatic duties grew. For now, the revelation highlights a blurring of lines between private wealth and public service during one of the most volatile periods in modern geopolitical history.
